Crews battle multiple outbuilding fires in Hunterdon County

HUNTERDON COUNTY, N.J. — Firefighters responded to multiple outbuilding fires within minutes of each other Wednesday afternoon in southern Hunterdon County, prompting a large multi-agency response, authorities said.

The first fire was reported around 2:44 p.m. in Delaware Township, with units dispatched to a reported outbuilding blaze. While crews were en route, a second call came in for another outbuilding fire on Wilson Road in West Amwell Township.

With both incidents active and drawing resources, dispatchers redirected several responding units from the Delaware Township fire to the West Amwell scene.

Upon arrival in West Amwell, fire officials confirmed two outbuildings were fully engulfed in flames and established command.

Crews worked to contain the fire and protect a nearby barn from spreading flames, focusing on exposure control as additional resources arrived.

Multiple fire companies, tankers and support units from across Hunterdon and Mercer counties, as well as Pennsylvania, responded, along with police and emergency medical services.

No injuries were immediately reported. The causes of both fires were not immediately known.
