HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) — Hundreds of residents gathered Tuesday evening at the Arthur J. Sheldon Recreation Complex for Hackettstown’s annual National Night Out celebration, an event designed to strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the community.
The event, held from 6 to 9 p.m., featured food, games, activities, emergency vehicles, community organizations and family-friendly entertainment. The Hackettstown Pool also offered free swimming from 6 to 8 p.m.
Residents had the opportunity to meet officers from the Hackettstown Police Department and representatives from dozens of local organizations, businesses and agencies, including Atlantic Health, DASACC, Hackettstown Public Library, the Hackettstown Business Improvement District, WRNJ Radio, Hackettstown Fire Department, and the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office’s Office – Operation Helping Hand.
Attendees received free candy courtesy of Mars Snacking and enjoyed free chicken wings provided by Marley’s Wings & Things food truck.
The evening concluded with the annual Lawn Movie Under the Stars, featuring Disney-Pixar’s Hoppers at dusk. The movie was sponsored by the Hackettstown Business Improvement District and the Hackettstown Recreation Department.
National Night Out is held annually in communities across the country to promote partnerships between law enforcement and the public while encouraging neighborhood engagement and crime prevention.
