Daytime lane closures scheduled for I-78 Toll Bridge inspections, May 5–9

A series of off-peak daytime lane closures are scheduled for the I-78 Toll Bridge during the week of May 5, according to the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission.

The travel restrictions will allow for the bridge’s biennial inspection.

The scheduled lane closures are as follows:

  • Monday, May 5 through Wednesday, May 7 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.): The right westbound lane will be closed; two of three westbound lanes will remain open.
  • Thursday, May 8 and Friday, May 9 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.): The right eastbound lane will be closed; two of three eastbound lanes will remain open.

Travel delays are not anticipated, but motorists are urged to reduce speeds and exercise caution when approaching and driving through the designated inspection zones, the commission said.

The lane closure schedule is subject to change due to weather, emergencies, or other unforeseen factors.
