Warren County promotes heart health awareness during American Heart Month, encourages residents to ‘know your numbers’

WARREN COUNTY, NJ – February is American Heart Health Month, and the Warren County Board of County Commissioners joins the Warren County Health Department in spreading awareness and encouraging residents to “know your numbers.”

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States but can often be prevented. Many health conditions increase the risk of heart disease, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, obesity, tobacco use, and physical inactivity. Heart disease is often referred to as the “silent killer” because there are often no warning signs or symptoms.

That’s why knowing the numbers of your blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, and body mass index is crucial in reducing your chances of developing heart disease.

Join Warren County in celebrating American Heart Month throughout February and learn how to keep your heart healthy this Heart Month.
