Denville police conduct active shooter response training at Morris Knolls High School

DENVILLE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — Denville police officers recently participated in active shooter response training at Morris Knolls High School ahead of the start of the new school year, according to police.

The training focused on teamwork, communication and coordinating officers’ response to an active shooter incident in a school setting.

Officers also incorporated the department’s room-clearing drone program into the training. Police said the technology is used to improve situational awareness and safely gather information in challenging environments.

The department said the training allows officers to sharpen their skills, work together and remain prepared to respond to emergencies involving local schools and the community.

Denville police thanked Morris Knolls High School for allowing officers to use the school for the training.
