Denville to host three-day “Denville Days” festival for America’s 250th anniversary

DENVILLE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — Denville will mark the nation’s 250th anniversary with a three-day community celebration this summer as part of its local America 250 events.

The Denville Days festival is scheduled for July 3–5 at Gardner Field, where organizers say the space will be transformed into a large community festival featuring live music, entertainment and family activities.

The event is being organized by the Denville Semiquincentennial Committee, which was appointed by Mayor Tom Andes to coordinate the township’s programming for the nation’s 250th anniversary.

According to organizers, the festival will feature three days of live performances and entertainment, including a Friday night kickoff event with Joey Bella under a big tent. Activities will include a children’s activity area with games and crafts, food vendors, picnic spaces, a beer garden and an arts and crafts market.

Additional attractions are expected to include friendly competitions and contests, tethered hot air balloon rides — weather permitting — and the township’s traditional fireworks display.

Organizers said the event is designed to create a welcoming community atmosphere where residents can gather with family and neighbors while celebrating the nation’s milestone anniversary.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime milestone for our country and our town,” Andes said in a statement. “Denville Days will be a celebration of history, community and the energy that makes this town special.”

The festival will serve as the culmination of a year of commemorative programming planned by the Semiquincentennial Committee.

Additional entertainment announcements, event details and volunteer opportunities are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
