Denville Township Police Department welcomes Officer Alana Szabanos back after deployment with NJ Army National Guard

DENVILLE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – The Denville Township Police Department is proud to welcome Officer Alana Szabanos back home after her deployment with the New Jersey Army National Guard.

Officer Szabanos served with the 44th Infantry Brigade Combat Team in Erbil, Iraq, from March 2024 to December 2024.

During her deployment, Officer Szabanos held the role of Special Security Officer, where she was entrusted with safeguarding sensitive classified information and overseeing security protocols related to critical data. This included intelligence gathering and analysis to protect national interests.

Having completed her service abroad, Officer Szabanos has returned to full duty with the Patrol Division of the Denville Police Department. The department is honored to have her back on the team.

“We encourage our community to extend a warm welcome to her and say hello when you see her around. Thank you for your service, Officer Szabanos!” the police department said in a Facebook post.
