Driver charged with DWI, careless driving in Hunterdon County

READINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A man is facing charges including driving while intoxicated and careless driving in Readington Township.

On Saturday, April 16, at around 8:15 p.m., an officer observed Charlie Ambrose Jr., 56, of Whitehouse Station driving carelessly of Route 22, police said.

The officer stopped Ambrose near the Kings parking lot and detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the interior of the vehicle. Ambrose failed the officers field sobriety tests and was then arrested for driving while intoxicated, police said.

Ambrose was issued a summons for DWI, refusal to submit to breath test, careless driving, failure to stop, failure to maintain lane, and failure to use proper turn signal.
