Driver injured after being struck by own SUV on I-80 in Warren County, state police say

ALLAMUCHY TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — A driver was injured Sunday morning after exiting his vehicle when it began to roll forward on Interstate 80 eastbound in Allamuchy Township, according to the New Jersey State Police.

Troopers responded to the incident around 11:04 a.m. near milepost 20.8 in Warren County, NJSP spokesman Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said.

Based on a preliminary investigation, the driver of a Honda SUV exited the vehicle when it began to move forward and was subsequently struck by it, Lebron said.

The victim sustained minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.

The incident remains under investigation, and no additional information was available, according to state police.
