Driver injured after tanker truck hauling coconut oil veers off I-80 and overturns in Morris County

MOUNT ARLINGTON BOROUGH, NJ (Morris County) –  The driver of a tanker truck carrying coconut oil was injured after the vehicle veered off Interstate 80 and overturned early Tuesday morning, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Jeffrey Lebron.

The crash occurred at around 2:53 a.m. on the westbound side of Interstate 80 at milepost 30 in Mount Arlington Borough, Lebron said.

A preliminary investigation indicated that the tanker truck hauling coconut oil veered off the roadway and overturned, Lebron said.

The driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital, Lebron said.

The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information is available at this time, he added.
