Small plane crashes near Somerset County airport

BEDMINSTER TOWNSHIP, NJ (Somerset County) – A small plane crashed near Somerville Airport in Bedminster Township Wednesday night.

A single-engine Piper PA-28 crashed around 7:00 p.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Two people were on board, the FAA said. Their condition is unknown.

The aircraft is registered to Ameriflyers of Texas Inc. in Dallas, TX, according to FAA records.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the cause of the crash.
