Driver seriously injured when vehicle crashes into tree on I-287 in Morris County, state police say

HARDING TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Rhode Island man was seriously injured Monday afternoon when his vehicle crashed into a tree on Interstate 287 in Morris County, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Detective Jeffrey Lebron.

The crash happened at around 2:45 p.m. on Interstate 287 southbound at milepost 33.7 in Harding Township, Lebron said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Ford passenger vehicle, driven by Jason Boudreau, 18, of Pawtucket, was traveling southbound on I-287 when the driver for the Ford lost directional control, veered off the roadway to the right and impacted a tree, Lebron said.

As a result of the crash, Boudreau suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital, Lebron said.

The accident remains under investigation and no additional information was available, Lebron said.
