UPDATE: E-bike rider fatally struck by box truck on Route 46 in Morris County ID’d

ROCKAWAY BOROUGH, NJ (Morris County) — An e-bike rider was fatally struck by a box truck on Route 46 in Rockaway Borough, according to Meghan Knab, Public Information Officer for the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of April 9. Police responded to a motor vehicle crash in the area of 202 Route 46, where a box truck had struck the operator of an electric bicycle, Knab said.

The cyclist was transported to Morristown Medical Center, where they were later pronounced dead. The driver of the box truck was not injured and remained at the scene, Knab said.

The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and the Rockaway Borough Police Department are actively investigating the incident.

No further information is being released at this time, Knab said.
