
Woman killed in Somerset County pedestrian crash
FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Somerset County) — A Somerset County woman was struck and killed while crossing Hamilton Street on Wednesday night in Franklin Township, authorities said.
Police responded at 8:35 p.m. to the area of Hamilton Street near Francis Street for a report of a crash involving a pedestrian, according to Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald.
Investigators said the woman was crossing Hamilton Street when she was struck by a Toyota Corolla. The driver was not injured.
The pedestrian, who was identified as a Franklin Township resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not been released.
Members of the Somerset County Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team, the Franklin Township Police Department Traffic Safety Bureau and investigators from the Northern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office responded to investigate the crash.
The investigation remains ongoing pending the findings of the Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team.
