HARMONY TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — An Eagle Scout project has added a second bat condo at Merrill Creek Reservoir in Harmony Township, providing local bats with a safe place to roost.
According to Merrill Creek Reservoir, BSA Troop 54’s Jacob Werfel built the bat condo as part of his Eagle Scout project.
The structure was installed at Quarry Point at the reservoir and is designed to mimic natural roosting locations, such as loose tree bark.
The bat condo will provide bats with a secure place to rest, escape predators and raise their pups, according to Merrill Creek Reservoir.
