Fire damages Pop’s Bagels in Morris County; no injuries reported, police say

WHARTON BOROUGH, N.J. (Morris County) — A fire that broke out early Thursday morning at Pop’s Bagels on North Main Street caused significant damage but resulted in no injuries, according to police.

The fire was reported at 6:44 a.m. at the business located at 370 North Main Street. Police said the shop was open at the time and was safely evacuated.

The Wharton Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire with assistance from the Rockaway Township Fire Department. The building sustained extensive smoke, fire and water damage.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Wharton Fire Department and the Fire Marshal’s Office, police said.
