First day of Hackettstown’s Oktoberfest to feature, barrel tapping with Mayor Jerry DiMaio, stein hold competitions, wiener dog race, music and more
HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – Ready to kick off the fall season with Hackettstown’s biggest town-wide event of the year?
Hackettstown’s Oktoberfest will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28, and Sunday, Sept. 29.
Join the Hackettstown Business Improvement District, Czig Meister Brewing Company (106 Valentine St), and Man Skirt Brewing Company (144 Main St) as they host events throughout the weekend.
This is a free event to attend, so grab your friends and family and get ready to have the time of your life!
Here are the activities and music scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 28:
- Main Street Vendors Close at 6pm
- Valentine and Grand open till 8pm
- ALL DAY ~ Kids Corner on the corner of Main and Grand.
- ALL DAY ~Nintendo Street Tournament in front of Oasis Online Arcade
- ALL DAY~ Crafters, Vendors, Food Trucks and more on Main St, Valentine St and Grand Ave
- ALL DAY ~ NEW!!!! Outdoor Beer Garden by Man Skirt & Czig Meister on Grand Avenue
- 12:30 ~ Barrel Tapping with Mayor DiMaio (Czig Meister)
- 1:30-4:30 ~Peter and the Wolf-Gang (Roaming thru festival)
- 3:00 ~ Wiener Dog Race (Czig Meister) lower lot
- 3:30 ~ Teen Stein Hold Competition (in front of Man Skirt) First place winner – Prize from Oasis Online Arcade
- 4:00 ~ 6:00pm –♫ Hackettstown Community Band Roaming Oompah Band
- 4:30 ~ Philly Pretzel Eating Contest (Valentine Street)
- 5:00 ~ Stein Hold Men & Woman Competitions w/ judge Mayor DiMaio (in front of Man Skirt)
- 5:00 ~ Grain Bag Toss (Czig Meister) Lower lot
- 5:00-10pm Tony Caggiano Band (Man Skirt)
- 5:30-8:00 ~ Stella G’s Oktoberfest Buffet-reservations only

The following roads will be closed from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday and 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday:
- Main St (Route 46) from High St (Route 517) to Liberty St.
- Valentine St from Washington St to Main St.
- Grand Ave from Main St to Washington St.
There will also be no parking on Main St from High St to Liberty St, Valentine St from Washington Street to Main Street, Grand Ave from Washington St to Main St, Liberty St from Main St to Franklin St, and Franklin St from High St to Liberty St. Any vehicle parked in a no parking zone will be ticketed and towed, town officials said.
Expect traffic delays in the area, town officials said.
The Hackettstown Parking Authority is allowing free parking on streets and municipal lots on Sept. 28 and Sept. 29 due to Oktoberfest, town officials said.
