Food Warriors Food Drive July 30 at the Warren County Farmers’ Fair

Sponsored by the veterans of the Carl D. Archer Post 528 of White Twp

HARMONY TONWSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – ‘Veteran’s Day’ at the Warren County Farmers’ Fair is on July 30 with free admission for all veterans with proper ID.

The first 100 supporters bringing a box or bag of 10 items or more from below food list will receive a Post 528 cloth shopping tote bag. Food can be dropped off at the Red Cross white panel truck which will be in the main parking lot off of County Route 519 between the ticket booths from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on July 30 only.

If you are not entering the fair you can still donate or you may make a cash donation –buckets will be at the entrance ticket booths if you didn’t bring food. Donation buckets will also be at all Post 528 Legion events at the fair from July 29 – August 1. 

The food drive benefits troops stationed at Joint Bases McGuire, Dix and Lakehurst in New Jersey. 

Non-perishable food items supporting military families-short list: 

Canned Meat/Chicken/Tuna; Dry Pasta; Breakfast Bars or Toaster Pastries; Canned, Instant, or Packaged Soup; Rice (plain bagged/microwavable/flavored sides); Canned Vegetables/fruits; Tomato or Spaghetti Sauce; Shelf-Stable Spreads and Condiments; Dried Beans or Grains; Baking Mixes

“We are grateful for your support and so far we have a donation of product from Mars Wrigley in Hackettstown and the Alpha Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary is holding a food drive for us,” post 528 said.

Born and raised in Northwest NJ, Jay has a degree in Communications and has had a life-long interest in local radio and various styles of music.
