Four injured after multi-vehicle crash involving tractor-trailer on I-80 in Morris County

ROXBURY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – Four people were injured following a multi-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer on Interstate 80 in Morris County Monday evening, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Charles Marchan.

The crash occurred at around 6:10 p.m. on Interstate 80 eastbound at milepost 32.2 in Roxbury Township, Marchan said.

Based on a preliminary investigation, a Subaru SUV, driven by Edward M. Epstein, 62, of Mahwah, a Honda SUV, driven by Nancy Balogh, 72, of Mount Arlington Borough, a Mazda passenger car, driven by Mark Broschinsky, 48, of New York, NY, and a Volvo tractor-trailer, driven by Savalas Dodd, 49, of Charlotte, NC, were all traveling east on I-80, Marchan said.

In the area of milepost 32.2, the Subaru, Honda, and Mazda were slowing down for traffic when the Volvo struck the rear of the Subaru, Honda, and Mazda, then ran off the left side of the road and struck the guardrail, Marchan said.

As a result of the crash, Epstein and Dodd sustained moderate injuries, Balogh sustained serious injuries, and Broschinsky sustained minor injuries, Marchan said.

The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information was available, Marchan said.
