GoFundMe set up for Warren County family who lost everything in house fire
LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A GoFundMe has been set up for a Warren County family who lost everything in a house fire Thursday evening.
The fire broke out at around 6:54 p.m. at a residence on Spring Hill Lane in Liberty Township. Upon arrival, first responders found the home fully engulfed in flames, New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Jeffrey Lebron said.
All three occupants evacuated the home and sustained minor injuries, Lebron reported.
“Thankfully, Susan Sterphone-Stryker and her boys are safe. The boys were transferred to St. Barnabas burn unit but will be okay. That is the good news; the bad news is they lost everything,” said Cheryl Crisp, who created the GoFundMe page.
“For as long as I have known Susan Sterphone-Stryker, she has always been the one helping others, creating meal trains, collecting donations, and taking in children. She now needs our help,” Crisp said.
The GoFundMe has set a goal of $50,000 for the family. As of Sunday morning, it has raised nearly $30,000. If you would like to donate to help the family, click here.
There will also be a food and clothing drive to help the family on Saturday, Oct. 5, and Sunday, Oct. 6, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Great Meadows Middle School gym entrance, located at 273 Route 46, Great Meadows, NJ 07838.
