Hackettstown and Warren Hills to mark 100 years of football rivalry in Centennial Showdown Oct. 24; festivities begin Oct. 23

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) — Hackettstown and Warren Hills will celebrate a century of football tradition when the two longtime rivals meet in the Centennial Showdown on Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, at Morrison Field in Hackettstown. The milestone game caps off a two-day community celebration honoring 100 years of Tiger football and one of New Jersey’s most enduring high school rivalries.

Festivities begin Thursday, Oct. 23, with a Rally Walk and Community Parade starting at 6 p.m. The parade will feature the Hackettstown High School band, cheerleaders, and football team marching from the high school to Morrison Field (Warren Street), where a schoolwide pep rally open to the public will follow. The night will conclude with a glow stick finale to set the stage for game day.

On Friday, fans can kick off the celebration early at the Tiger Zone Pre-Game Celebration from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. featuring food trucks, games, and music. WRNJ Radio will be broadcasting live, interviewing fans, and capturing the excitement before kickoff.

At 6:30 p.m., a pregame ceremony will honor Hackettstown alumni by decade, recognize Hall of Fame members, and feature a special cheer performance celebrating the program’s legacy.

Kickoff for the White Out Centennial Showdown between the Hackettstown Tigers and the Warren Hills Blue Streaks is set for 7:15 p.m. Fans are encouraged to pack the stands dressed in white to show their Tiger pride for this once-in-a-century matchup.

After the game, spectators can enjoy a Light Show Spectacular, followed by a Centennial After Party for guests 21 and older at Grand Avenue Tavern, featuring live music, food, and more celebrations.

“This game represents 100 years of tradition, competition, and community pride,” Hackettstown Mayor Jerry DiMaio said. “It’s a chance to celebrate our past, our present, and the generations of Tigers and Blue Streaks who’ve made this rivalry so special.”
