Hackettstown announces road closures, parking restrictions for Oktoberfest weekend

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) — Several roads in Hackettstown will be closed and parking restrictions will be in effect this weekend during the town’s annual Oktoberfest celebration, officials announced.

Route 46 (Main Street) between Route 517 (High Street) and Liberty Street will be closed from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, and Sunday, Sept. 28. Valentine Street and Grand Avenue, both between Main Street and Washington Street, will be closed from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

No parking will be permitted on Main Street between Liberty Street and Grand Avenue; Valentine Street between Main Street and Washington Street; Liberty Street between Franklin Street and Main Street; and Franklin Street between Liberty Street and High Street. Vehicles parked in these areas will be ticketed and towed, officials said.

To accommodate visitors, the Hackettstown Parking Authority will offer free parking on streets and in municipal lots throughout the weekend.

Oktoberfest runs from noon to 8 p.m. on Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Attendees are encouraged to expect traffic delays and plan alternate routes.
