Hackettstown group bakes over 2,000 cookies to sweeten the holidays for troops

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – A group of friends and family gathered in Hackettstown on Saturday to bake thousands of cookies in support of military heroes.

Cookies For The Troops (CFTT) is a non-profit organization founded by Santina Flynn, who passed away in 2019 after battling breast cancer. Santina’s inspiration for starting the group came when her son, Justin, joined the Marines.

Each year, volunteers come together to bake cookies and treats, which are then packed and sent to troops deployed overseas. This year, the group baked 2,024 cookies to continue Santina’s legacy.

“We are all exhausted but so happy for all the support and help we received in keeping Santina’s dream alive,” said the group.
