Hackettstown Halloween Downtown event draws thousands in costumed celebration (PHOTOS)

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) — Thousands of costumed residents flocked to the 11th annual Hackettstown Halloween Downtown event Saturday afternoon, reveling in a festive celebration of the spooky season.

The festivities kicked off with a lively parade down West Moore Street, leading to the Main Street Gazebo, where eager trick-or-treaters collected candy from generous sponsors including Mars Wrigley, Atlantic Health System/Hackettstown Medical Center, Wawa, WRNJ Radio, Hackettstown Stormwater Management, and pumpkins from Donaldson Farms.

Adding to the excitement, M&M characters were on hand for photo opportunities, delighting children and families alike.

Following the parade, trick-or-treaters explored local businesses along Main Street, each handing out treats to the enthusiastic crowd. Additionally, a Trunk-or-Treat event took place in the rear parking lot of Trinity United Methodist Church and Exit Realty Connection, providing even more chances for festive fun.

Here is a list of the Best Halloween Costume winners:

  • Best Halloween Costume 7-years-old to 10-years-old: Aidan, 9, of Hackettstown dressed as Dr. Zomboss from Plants vs. Zombies.
  • Best Halloween Costume 4-years-old to 6-years-old: Vivian, 4, of Hackettstown dressed as Velvet from Trolls Band Together.
  • Best Halloween Costume Pet: Stella of Allamuchy Township dressed as Sponge Bob.
  • Best Halloween Costume Infant to 3-years-old: Emiliana, 1, of Hackettstown dressed as a flower.
  • Best Halloween Costume Family: The Legemaat family of Hackettstown dressed as Grease Lightning.

The event was sponsored by the Hackettstown Police Department and co-sponsored by Mars Wrigley, Atlantic Health System/Hackettstown Medical Center, Hackettstown Business Improvement District, Centenary University, Wawa, Donaldson Farms, and WRNJ Radio.
