HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) — Residents gathered at the Arthur J. Sheldon Recreation Complex on Tuesday evening for Hackettstown’s annual National Night Out, an event designed to strengthen relationships between the police and the community they serve.
Held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Warren Street, the event featured opportunities for residents to engage with members of the Hackettstown Police Department and learn more about crime prevention and public safety.
The evening included participation from numerous local organizations and businesses, which provided resources, giveaways, and information. The Warren County Prosecutor’s Office also participated, sharing addiction recovery resources as part of its Operation Helping Hand initiative.
The Hackettstown Business Improvement District and Hackettstown Recreation co-hosted a free outdoor showing of “Kung Fu Panda 4”, which began at dusk.
Mars Wrigley provided free candy for attendees, while Marley’s Wings and Things on Wheels food truck served up free wings.
National Night Out is a nationwide initiative held annually on the first Tuesday in August. It aims to promote safer neighborhoods through community engagement and collaboration with law enforcement.
