Hackettstown kicks off centennial celebration with community rally, 100th rivalry game set for tonight
HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) — Hackettstown began its centennial celebration of the storied football rivalry with Warren Hills on Thursday evening with a community rally marking 100 years of tradition.
The festivities began with the Centennial Rally Walk, which started at 6 p.m. at Hackettstown High School and continued to Morrison Field. The event featured the Hackettstown Tigers football teams, cheerleaders, and the school band, leading into a Community Pep Rally celebrating school spirit.
The celebration continues Friday as the Hackettstown Tigers take on the Warren Hills Blue Streaks in the 100th anniversary rivalry game, known as the White Out Centennial Showdown, under the lights at Morrison Field.
The Tiger Zone Pre-Game Celebration will be held from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. near the pool entrance, featuring food trucks, games, and entertainment. Food vendors include Btch’n Bacon on a Stick, The Sizzlin’ Spud, Marley’s Wings, A Slice of New Jersey, and Twin Flames Drinkables on the Go.
WRNJ Radio will broadcast live from the event, interviewing fans and covering the pregame excitement.
Pregame ceremonies begin at 6:30 p.m., featuring alumni introductions by decade, Hall of Fame recognitions, and a special cheer performance. Kickoff is set for 7:15 p.m., with fans encouraged to wear white for the White Out celebration.
Following the game, a Light Show Spectacular will cap off the weekend’s festivities, celebrating a century of football, community, and school pride shared between Hackettstown and Warren Hills.
