Hackettstown launches annual ‘Spook the House’ contest to crown top Halloween decorations
HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) — The Hackettstown Police Department, the Town of Hackettstown, and the Hackettstown Business Improvement District are once again teaming up to present the annual “Spook the House” contest — a community Halloween tradition celebrating the most creative and spooky outdoor home decorations.
Residents throughout Hackettstown are invited to decorate their homes for the season, with prizes and bragging rights awarded to those displaying the most original and frightfully festive setups.
The contest will feature one winner per section, divided into the following areas: Willow Grove, Centenary, West Valley View/East Prospect, Mitchell Road, and College View.
Police officers will judge homes on Oct. 28 and 29 while patrolling neighborhoods. Winners will be notified on Wednesday, Oct. 30.
No prior registration is required to participate — residents simply need to decorate by October 27 to be considered for judging.
