Hackettstown makes Netflix debut in ‘Big Mistakes’ filmed at local auction

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) — Hackettstown has officially made its Netflix debut, with scenes filmed in the town now streaming in the newly released series “Big Mistakes.”

The show premiered Thursday, April 6, 2026, and Episode 5 features scenes shot at the Hackettstown Livestock Auction market on West Stiger Street. Filming took place during a production day in September 2025.

“Big Mistakes,” created by Emmy award-winning Dan Levy, is a comedic family saga blended with a high-stakes crime thriller.

The series follows siblings Nicky, played by Levy, and Morgan, played by Taylor Ortega, who become entangled in organized crime after a plan to help their grandmother spirals out of control.

The show also stars Laurie Metcalf, Elizabeth Perkins and others.

With the episode now released, the town is sharing behind-the-scenes photos from the day filming took place. Those images are available on the Town of Hackettstown’s Facebook page.

The eight-episode series is currently streaming on Netflix.
