Hackettstown Rotary Club’s annual Holiday Food Drive collects over 3,400 pounds of food for Norwescap Food Bank

MANSFIELD TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – The Hackettstown Rotary Club’s Annual Holiday Food Drive to benefit the Norwescap Food Bank was a huge success on Saturday, collecting 3,467 pounds of food, including 119 turkeys, as well as $2,246.25 in cash, checks, and gift cards.

Rotarians were stationed in the Panera Bread parking lot on Route 57 in Mansfield Township, providing an easy drop-off location for shoppers. Donors didn’t have to leave the comfort of their cars as club members met them in the parking lot to collect donations, including canned and dry foods, frozen turkeys, and hams.

Norwescap employees then packed the donations into a refrigerated truck and accepted the monetary donations, which will help the food bank purchase additional food for distribution.

The collected food will be distributed to Norwescap’s pantry and feeding partners to help neighbors facing food insecurity through the holiday season in Hunterdon, Sussex, and Warren counties.

This annual drive, held the Saturday before Thanksgiving for more than 20 years, is one of the most significant efforts for the Norwescap Food Bank.
