Heath Village to host advance care planning seminar

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — Heath Village will host a free advance care planning seminar later this month, offering residents and community members guidance on preparing for future healthcare decisions.

The event is scheduled for Tuesday, April 14, at 11 a.m. at the retirement community in Washington Township. It is being held in recognition of National Healthcare Decisions Day.

Heath Village Director of Social Services Danielle Pangallo will lead the seminar, covering topics such as how to document and communicate healthcare wishes, complete an advance directive or living will, and appoint a healthcare power of attorney.

The presentation will also include guidance on discussing end-of-life preferences with family members and medical professionals.

Pangallo, a licensed clinical social worker and certified dementia practitioner, has worked at Heath Village for more than 16 years.

The event is free and open to the public, though registration is required. Light refreshments will be provided.
