Hunterdon County celebrates success at first 4-H & Agricultural Fair Annual Banquet
HUNTERDON COUNTY, NJ – Hunterdon County Deputy Director Shaun C. Van Doren, along with Commissioners Jeff Kuhl and Susan J. Soloway, and Sheriff Fred Brown, helped celebrate the success of the first Hunterdon County 4-H & Agricultural Fair Annual Banquet meeting held at Beaver Brook Country Club on Wednesday, January 15.
The event brought together members of the 4-H community, local small businesses, and agricultural supporters for an evening of recognition and celebration.
“The Commissioner Board greatly appreciates the ongoing work and dedication of the Hunterdon County 4-H and Fair Committee. Your important work ensures that agriculture, a foundation that has defined Hunterdon County since its founding, continues for future generations. The annual 4-H Fair is an important community event that brings together locals and visitors alike, creating memorable experiences and fostering the next generation of farmers, leaders, and community members,” Van Doren said.
The Board of County Commissioners has been a strong supporter of the 4-H Committee and greatly appreciates the ongoing partnerships to improve the South County Fairgrounds.
Some recent improvements include the installation of new drainage near Building 2 and the Grange Building, pavement improvements throughout the complex, a new gravel pad near the small animal building, new hydrants, water line improvements, upgraded fencing, and gates for added security. Additionally, a contractor has been hired to begin preparing for future expansion of water and electrical service into other areas of the fairgrounds.
“Through continued partnership, investment, and collaboration, we can ensure the future success of our farming community and keep the Hunterdon County 4-H Fair among the best in the state,” Van Doren said.
