Hunterdon County Commissioner Rich joins local volunteers at Flemington Area Food Pantry for Thanksgiving meal distribution

RARITAN TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, Commissioner Zach Rich joined dedicated volunteers and staff from the Flemington Area Food Pantry to distribute Thanksgiving meal bags to local families in need. This heartfelt initiative ensured that Hunterdon County residents could enjoy a warm, festive meal during the holiday season.

“This event is a testament to the incredible spirit of our community. The generosity and hard work of the volunteers and Flemington Food Pantry staff ensure that everyone can share in the joy of Thanksgiving. It’s an honor to be part of such a meaningful event,” said Rich.

The annual Thanksgiving distribution took place at the Flemington Food Pantry, where meal bags were packed with all the essentials for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. The bags included items such as turkeys, stuffing, vegetables, and pies, providing a complete holiday feast for those in need.

The Flemington Food Pantry has long been a cornerstone of support for local families, providing food and other essential services throughout the year. This Thanksgiving initiative exemplifies the pantry’s commitment to serving the community and ensuring that no one goes without during the holidays.

Commissioner Rich also expressed his gratitude to the volunteers and pantry staff who made the event possible. “Thank you to everyone who contributed their time and resources to make this distribution a success. Your kindness and dedication truly make a difference in the lives of our residents.”

Earlier this year, the Flemington Area Food Pantry was among several local nonprofits that received grant funds from the Commissioner Board, as part of the State and Local Recovery Funds, received by Hunterdon County under the American Rescue Plan. These funds were used to build a new pantry annex for additional storage space and to support supplemental food purchases for pantry clients.
