Hunterdon County commissioners honor Dr. Jennifer Shouffler as 2025 Superintendent of the Year
FLEMINGTON, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — The Hunterdon County Board of Commissioners has formally recognized Dr. Jennifer Shouffler, superintendent of the Tewksbury Township School District, as the 2025 Hunterdon County Superintendent of the Year.
At its Aug. 19 meeting, the board presented Shouffler with a proclamation commending her leadership and dedication to students, staff and families in Tewksbury and across the county.
“Dr. Shouffler’s commitment to excellence in education is an inspiration,” Commissioner Director John E. Lanza said. “It is an honor to recognize her achievements and to thank her for the contributions she continues to make on behalf of students in Hunterdon County.”
Under Shouffler’s leadership, Tewksbury schools have seen gains in academic performance, student support services, professional development and community engagement. She is noted for her collaborative approach and for fostering the growth of both educators and students.
Deputy Director Shaun C. Van Doren, a longtime Tewksbury resident, also praised Shouffler, citing her strong community ties and involvement in local history projects. “Congratulations to Dr. Shouffler, her ongoing commitment to promoting Tewksbury history reflects her dedication to both civic engagement and educational enrichment,” he said.
The proclamation cited Shouffler’s integrity, compassion and excellence, saying her leadership has left a lasting impact on Hunterdon County’s educational system. The board extended its congratulations for her service and achievements.
