Hunterdon County Commissioners join Breast Cancer Awareness Walk supporting Dance for the Cure
RARITAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — Hunterdon County Commissioners Susan J. Soloway and Jeff Kuhl, along with Prosecutor Renée Robeson, joined county staff members at the Route 12 County Complex on Friday, Oct. 10, to participate in the annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk in support of Dance for the Cure (DFC), a local nonprofit that provides financial assistance to breast cancer patients across Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, and Somerset counties.
The event featured Kathleen Cirioli, co-founder of Dance for the Cure and a three-time cancer survivor, as the guest speaker. Cirioli shared her personal journey and the organization’s mission to ease the financial burdens faced by those undergoing breast cancer treatment. Her message of resilience and advocacy resonated deeply with attendees.
Commissioner Susan J. Soloway praised the community’s participation and generosity:
“This event is a true reflection of the compassion and solidarity within our county workforce. By walking together, we not only raised vital funds for Dance for the Cure but also sent a message of hope to those fighting breast cancer. We are especially grateful to Kathleen Cirioli for sharing her powerful story, and to all who helped make this event a success.”
Participants were treated to complimentary pizza, donated by David Sarmir, a Nationwide Senior Retirement Specialist and local supporter of charitable causes.
Founded by Kathleen Cirioli and Joanne Liscovitz, Dance for the Cure operates with the help of dedicated volunteers throughout New Jersey, offering compassion and direct support to breast cancer patients in need.
