RARITAN TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – Hunterdon County Commissioner Director Jeff Kuhl and Commissioner Zach Rich joined Mayor Scott Sipos and members of the Raritan Township Committee for the first ever “Holiday Lights”, a festive lighting of a holiday tree, a menorah, and dazzling Diwali lights, on Sunday, Dec. 1st, at 1 Municipal Drive, in Flemington.
The event brought together residents of all ages to celebrate the festive season with warmth, light, and community spirit.
“The lighting of the holiday tree and menorah is a great way to kick off the holiday season by bringing our community together. This time of year, is always a good occasion to reflect on our shared values like family, friendship, and community. Raritan Township is such a special place with tremendous unity among community members. Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate – your presence and participation truly make our community shine brighter,” Kuhl said.
The event provided a festive start to the holiday season that included taking pictures with Santa Claus, complimentary hot chocolate and cookies from Dunkin’ Donuts and ShopRite, food from ‘Panatieri’s Pizza & Pasta’ food truck, and an opportunity to create holiday cards for active military members currently serving overseas. Participants were encouraged to bring canned good donations to support the Flemington Area Food Pantry.
“It is wonderful to see the community come together to celebrate the holiday season with such joy and unity and serves as a reminder of the many things we share in common. Thank you to the Raritan Township Committee and everyone who participated and helped make this event a success, Rich said.
