Hunterdon County commissioners recognize community leaders at annual Taste of Hunterdon event
FLEMINGTON, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — Hunterdon County Commissioners Jeff Kuhl and Shaun Van Doren presented awards recognizing community leaders and organizations for their contributions to the county during the annual Taste of Hunterdon event on Tuesday, Oct. 6.
The event, hosted by Prevention Resources at the Hunterdon County Harvest Family Success Center, brought together community leaders, local businesses and supporters to recognize efforts aimed at strengthening the community.
Among this year’s honorees was Chris Phelan, president and CEO of the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce, who was recognized for his longstanding contributions to Prevention Resources and the greater Hunterdon County community.
Michael Golembiewski and the Flemington Ice Arena were also honored for their commitment to supporting youth mental health and providing a positive environment for young people.
“I am proud to recognize individuals like Chris and Michael, whose contributions continue to strengthen and uplift our community,” said Commissioner Kuhl. “Supporting youth mental health is essential to the long-term health and vitality of Hunterdon County. When young people feel supported, connected, and equipped to navigate challenges, we strengthen the foundation of our community and foster a sense of belonging that will benefit generations to come.”
Kuhl has advocated for efforts to make Hunterdon County a stigma-free community by encouraging conversations about mental health and substance use disorders and reducing barriers that prevent individuals and families from seeking assistance.
The annual Taste of Hunterdon event celebrates the work of Prevention Resources and recognizes individuals and organizations that support its mission of promoting healthier communities.
