The proclamation was accepted on behalf of the department, by Public Health Epidemiologist, Christine Huang and the Director of Public Health Nursing, Shu-Chen Chiang.

Commissioner Shaun Van Doren, who also serves as the liaison to the Health Department said, “All year long, but especially during National Public Health Appreciation week, we celebrate the dedication of public health professionals who work tirelessly to promote the health, safety, and wellbeing of the community. We are fortunate for our Department of Health’s staff, and their entire team that works to care for the people in Hunterdon County.”

National Public Health Appreciation Week is specifically set aside to recognize the contributions of those providing public health services, most particularly the public health professionals who served during the national pandemic.
