Hunterdon County Commissioners view selections from the 50th Annual Senior Art Show

“Art Selections On Display At Historical Courthouse Throughout The Month Of August”

HUNTERDON COUNTY, NJ – Hunterdon County Commissioner Director Jeff Kuhl along with Deputy Director Susan Soloway and Commissioners John Lanza  and Zach Rich recently visited the County Historic Courthouse to view selections from the 50th Annual Senior Art Show, a collection of artworks created by Hunterdon County seniors ranging from age 60 to over 90 years old.

The annual art show is organized by members of the Hunterdon Art Committee, a group that holds regular meetings and assists in the planning and facilitation of this event.

“This exhibit is a great way to see the many creative talents of our local seniors. I was impressed by the individual and collective art pieces on display and would encourage the public to take the time to view this special exhibit available for public viewing at Historic Hunterdon County Courthouse,” Kuhl said.

This year’s art show featured a total of 137 pieces of artwork that were submitted by over 50 participants from each of the surrounding municipalities. The works of art on display include Acrylics, Drawings, Digital Art, Mixed Media, Oils, Pastels, Photographs, Print, Sculpture, and Watercolors. Some of the artwork is for sale and various selections are labeled with a price to signify the piece is available to be purchased.

A unique part of the art show is the entry of pieces to a collection entitled the “Hunterdon County Scene”, a special assortment of art that depicts specific locations and scenery familiar to the County of Hunterdon.

The public is invited to come and view this wonderful display of artwork! The Senior Art Show selections will be on display through the end of the month, with two more opportunities to view on; August 15 and 21 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. No registration is required to attend this exhibit.

If you are unable to attend either of the scheduled viewing dates, call 908-237-2019 or email cultural@co.hunterdon.nj.us to make an appointment.
