
Hunterdon County honors Hionis Greenhouses for 40 years of agricultural excellence
FLEMINGTON, N.J.(Hunterdon County) — The Hunterdon County Board of County Commissioners honored Hionis Greenhouses Inc. with a proclamation during its June 3 meeting, recognizing the company’s 40th anniversary and long-standing contributions to the local agricultural industry.
Founded in 1985 in Bridgewater and relocated to Whitehouse Station in 1997, Hionis Greenhouses has become one of New Jersey’s largest family-owned growers of plants and flowers, known for its commitment to quality, reliability and customer service throughout the East Coast.
Commissioner Director John E. Lanza presented the proclamation on behalf of the Board and praised the company’s legacy.
“For four decades, Hionis Greenhouses Inc. has been a pillar of excellence in Hunterdon County, fostering growth — not just in plants, but in relationships, trust, and community spirit,” Lanza said. “Their dedication to quality and service is truly commendable, and we celebrate their achievement in being a lasting influence on our region.”
Today, Hionis Greenhouses operates nearly 18 acres of undercover production and more than 65 acres of outdoor growing space, serving customers throughout the East Coast.
The Board of County Commissioners congratulated the Hionis family and company staff, expressing appreciation for their impact on the region and wishing them continued success for generations to come.
