Hunterdon County man charged in forged check theft, police say

FLEMINGTON BOROUGH, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — A Flemington man has been charged in connection with a forged check that was stolen and later fraudulently cashed, according to the Flemington Borough Police Department.

According to police, a resident reported on May 25, that he had accidentally dropped a check while entering his vehicle. The check was later discovered to have been forged and cashed at TD Bank.

After an investigation, police identified the suspect as Koskly O. Rodas-Calderon, 29, of Flemington. He was charged with third-degree theft and third-degree forgery.

Rodas-Calderon voluntarily turned himself in and was released on a summons pending a court appearance, police said.
