Hunterdon County officials join fastest goat milking contest at 4-H Fair

EAST AMWELL TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — Hunterdon County Commissioners and a local township committee member joined 4-H youth in a lighthearted competition during the annual fastest goat milking contest at the Hunterdon County 4-H & Agricultural Fair on Aug. 22.

Deputy Director Shaun C. Van Doren, Commissioners Susan J. Soloway and Jeff Kuhl, and Raritan Township Committee Member Scott Sipos participated in the spirited event, which took place in the goat barn at the fairgrounds. The contest, organized by the Kick Butt Kids 4-H Club, drew a lively crowd and has become a favorite among 4-H members and fairgoers.

“The 4-H milking contest highlights the important role agricultural education plays in our community,” Van Doren said. “We appreciate the opportunity to support our local 4-H youth and recognize their dedication to learning and leadership. It’s an honor to be invited back each year and to help encourage the next generation of agricultural leaders.”

The Kick Butt Kids 4-H Club once again turned the contest into a highlight of the fair, showcasing their creativity and passion for agricultural life. Officials thanked the club and organizers for including them in the fun.

The Hunterdon County 4-H & Agricultural Fair continues to showcase the county’s agricultural roots, youth programs and community spirit.
