HUNTERDON COUNTY, N.J. — Hunterdon County Parks and Recreation has unveiled a newly updated department logo designed to honor the division’s history while reflecting a modern, forward-looking vision.
The logo was presented to the Hunterdon County Board of Commissioners during its Jan. 20 meeting by Parks and Recreation Division Head Ryan Preston. Officials said the updated design reflects the department’s longstanding commitment to conservation, recreation and community engagement.
“Our parks are a source of great pride for Hunterdon County residents and visitors alike. This updated logo honors the legacy of our Parks and Recreation Department while symbolizing our continued dedication to preserving open space, protecting natural resources, and improving recreational opportunities for generations to come,” said Commissioner Director John E. Lanza, who serves as liaison to the department.
The Hunterdon County Parks System was established in 1973, with the origins of its logo dating back to a sign created for the Hunterdon County Arboretum in 1978. Over the years, multiple versions of the logo have been used, each maintaining the core symbolism of the original design.
The release of the new logo coincides with several significant milestones planned for the year ahead, including the anticipated spring completion of the Echo Hill Pond Restoration project, the 50th annual Music Under the Stars Concert Series this summer, and continued expansion and renovation at the Hunterdon County Arboretum.
Officials said the updated logo preserves the spirit of the original design while introducing a refreshed appearance that reflects the division’s ongoing growth. The new branding will be gradually incorporated across parks signage, printed materials, digital platforms and public communications to maintain a consistent and recognizable identity.
