Limited recall issued for repackaged M&M’s Peanut candies; none distributed in N.J.
A limited recall has been issued for repackaged M&M’s Peanut candies due to undeclared allergens, though the affected products were not distributed in New Jersey, according to federal recall information.
Beacon Promotions Inc. of Eagan, Minnesota, voluntarily recalled 541 units of repackaged M&M’s Peanut candies labeled as “Make Your Mark,” net weight 1.3 ounces, item number BB471BG. The recall was initiated Jan. 26, 2026, and remains ongoing.
The recall was issued because the products contain undeclared milk, soy and peanut allergens, which could pose a health risk to individuals with allergies or severe sensitivities. The affected candies carry lot number M1823200 with a “Best By” date of April 30, 2026. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration classified the recall as Class II, meaning the product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences.
According to the FDA, the recalled products were distributed in Alabama, Arizona, California, Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, North Carolina, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin. New Jersey was not included in the distribution area.
The candies were repackaged by Beacon Promotions and are not part of Mars Inc.’s official retail packaging. Mars said consumers can be confident that all M&M’S products sold in standard Mars packaging meet FDA labeling and food safety requirements and are not involved in any active recalls in the U.S. market.
Mars said it is aware of the limited recall conducted by Beacon Promotions involving cross-promotional packaging and advised allergen-sensitive consumers who have M&M’S in packaging bearing another company’s name or logo to discard those products out of an abundance of caution.
Consumers with questions or concerns about the recalled repackaged candies are advised to contact Beacon Promotions Inc. directly at 425-891-8841.
