Hunterdon County promotes summer festivals, breweries and farm attractions

HUNTERDON COUNTY, N.J. — Hunterdon County is highlighting its small towns, farms, breweries and summer events as part of its 2026 tourism campaign aimed at attracting day-trippers, families and weekend visitors.

County officials said Hunterdon offers an alternative to traditional summer destinations, featuring scenic countryside, farm-to-table dining, wineries, craft breweries and a full calendar of seasonal events.

Marc Saluk, Hunterdon County’s economic development and tourism director, described the county as “where New Jersey comes alive, with a chill vibe. It’s a playground for food lovers, outdoor adventurers, entertainment seekers and anyone craving a scenic country setting that makes a trip worth taking far from the rush of city life.”

The county is encouraging visitors to explore its downtowns in Clinton, Flemington, Frenchtown, High Bridge, Lambertville, Milford and Stockton, where locally owned shops, restaurants, galleries, museums and historic sites are within walking distance.

Among the featured attractions is the 579 Trail, which showcases Hunterdon County’s agricultural heritage through farms, farmers markets, wineries, vineyards, u-pick operations and artisan food producers. Visitors can access trail maps, an events calendar and lodging information through the county’s tourism website.

Beer enthusiasts also can participate in the sixth annual Hunterdon Beer Trail Passport program, which encourages visitors to stop at participating breweries throughout the county. Those who collect stamps from all participating breweries receive a commemorative 2026 Beer Trail glass and an invitation to a passport completion celebration.

Participating breweries include Conclave Brewing in Raritan Township, Descendants Brewing Company in Milford, Esker Hart Artisan Ales in High Bridge, Invertase Brewing Company in Lambertville, Lone Eagle Brewing in Flemington, Odd Bird Brewing in Stockton, Readington Brewery, Hop Farm in Neshanic Station, Sunken Silo Brew Works in Lebanon and Wild Fern Brewing in Frenchtown.

One of the county’s signature summer events, the Corn, Tomato and Beer Festival, will move to Historic Main Street in Flemington for the first time. The free festival is scheduled for Aug. 8 from noon to 8 p.m., with a rain date of Aug. 22. Organizers said the event will feature more than 130 vendors, over 20 food trucks, live entertainment, Hunterdon County beer and wine, family activities and VIP experiences.

The county’s summer calendar also includes the Hunterdon County Fair from Aug. 19-23 at the South County Park Fairgrounds in Lambertville, Frenchtown River Fest on Sept. 6, Milford Alive! on Sept. 26 and the Sourland Mountain Festival at Unionville Vineyards in Ringoes.
