Hunterdon County prosecutor Renée M. Robeson named Crime Stopper of the Year
CLINTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — Hunterdon County Prosecutor Renée M. Robeson was honored as the 2025 Crime Stopper of the Year during the Twelfth Annual Crime Stoppers of Hunterdon County “Denim & Diamonds Awards Night,” held Thursday, Oct. 9, at Beaver Brook Country Club.
Deputy Director Shaun C. Van Doren, Commissioner Jeff Kuhl, County Clerk Mary Melfi, and Sheriff Fred Brown attended the event, which celebrates individuals and law enforcement officers who demonstrate exceptional dedication to public safety.
“Prosecutor Robeson has brought professionalism, compassion, and vision to the office she leads. Her tireless efforts to protect our communities, advocate for victims, and collaborate across jurisdictions reflect the highest standards of public service,” said Deputy Director Van Doren. “We are honored to be present to recognize her extraordinary contributions and show our continued support for the mission of Crime Stoppers of Hunterdon County.”
Prosecutor Robeson was recognized for her decades of service in the legal and law enforcement communities in both Mercer and Hunterdon counties. Since her appointment in 2021, she has spearheaded numerous initiatives to modernize investigative practices, strengthen community engagement, and enhance victim-centered approaches to justice.
Under her leadership, the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office earned accreditation from the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police, reflecting her commitment to excellence, accountability, and innovation in public service.
The event also highlighted the ongoing contributions of local law enforcement and the critical role of Crime Stoppers of Hunterdon County, a volunteer-run nonprofit that relies on donations to fund its operations and reward program.
The annual “Denim & Diamonds Awards Night” serves as Crime Stoppers’ primary fundraising event, emphasizing the importance of community partnerships in maintaining public safety across Hunterdon County.
