Hunterdon County Senior Center offering upcoming holiday events
HUNTERDON COUNTY, NJ – Hunterdon County Commissioner and Senior Center liaison, Shaun C. Van Doren, has announced two exciting holiday events: The Festival of Lights and a performance of The Nutcracker Ballet.
Both events are sponsored by the Hunterdon County Senior Center and are designed to bring festive cheer to the community this December.
“We are thrilled to offer these wonderful holiday events to our seniors, at no cost. The Festival of Lights and The Nutcracker ballet performance are both perfect opportunities for residents to celebrate the season, connect with friends, and enjoy the holidays,” said Van Doren.
The Festival of Lights will be held at the Senior Center on Wednesday, December 13th, at 1:00 PM. The event will feature beautiful light displays representing various cultures, artistic activities, and seasonal refreshments. Registration for this event will be conducted through a lottery system and will close on December 10th. Interested participants can call 908-788-1359 to register.
The second event, a beloved holiday tradition, is The Nutcracker Ballet, which will be performed at the Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown on Saturday, December 21st, at 1:00 PM. The ballet will be accompanied by music from the New Jersey Symphony. The bus for this event will depart from St. Paul’s Church parking lot at 11:30 AM sharp. Registration for this event will also follow a lottery system and will close on December 6th. To register, call 908-788-1359.
“I encourage county residents aged 60 and older to register for these holiday events and take full advantage of the programs offered to the community to enjoy the spirit of the season,” Van Doren said.
