KINGWOOD TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — Hunterdon County will host its third annual Veterans Resource Fair next month, bringing veterans, active-duty service members and their families together with organizations offering information on benefits and services.
The Hunterdon County Board of County Commissioners, in partnership with U.S. Rep. Tom Kean Jr. and the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce, will host the event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, at Razberry’s Banquet Center, 834 Route 12 in Kingwood Township. Kean represents New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District, which includes Hunterdon County.
Organizations and service providers will be available to provide information and assistance related to veterans’ benefits, health care, employment, housing, education and other services.
“Our veterans have given so much in service to our country, and it is important that we make sure they know about the resources and benefits available to them,” Hunterdon County Commissioner Susan J. Soloway, co-liaison to Veterans Affairs, said. “The Veterans Resource Fair brings a wide range of organizations together in one place, making it easier for veterans and their families to ask questions, find information and connect with the services they need.”
Representatives from numerous organizations will be available throughout the event to answer questions, provide information about programs and connect veterans and their families with appropriate services.
“Every veteran’s circumstances are different, and sometimes finding the right resource can be difficult,” Soloway said. “By bringing these organizations together in one location, veterans can have those conversations directly and learn about programs and services they may not have known were available.”
Last year’s Veterans Resource Fair brought together nearly 50 vendors and more than 180 veterans and family members.
“We are proud to continue this partnership with Congressman Kean and the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce and to provide this opportunity for our veterans and their families,” Soloway said. “We encourage our veterans, active-duty service members and their families to join us on October 8 and take advantage of the many resources that will be available.”
