Hunterdon County woman charged after false child abuse report, police say

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — A Clinton Township woman was arrested after police said she filed a false report alleging child abuse at a local motel.

Clinton Township police said officers responded Jan. 4 to an anonymous report of child abuse involving residents at the motel. During the investigation, officers determined the allegation was fabricated by another resident, police said.

Authorities said the woman who made the report was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters for processing. While there, police said she provided false identifying information to officers. Her true identity was later determined to be Nicole L. Zizzamia, 44, of Clinton Township.

A records check revealed Zizzamia had an active National Crime Information Center (NCIC) warrant out of Sussex County and a $1,000 criminal warrant issued in Hackensack, police said.

Zizzamia was charged with filing a fictitious report to a law enforcement officer, two counts of contempt of court and hindering prosecution. She was then transported to the Hunterdon County Jail.
