Independence Township Police Department accepting applications for full-time police officers

INDEPENDENCE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – The Independence Township Police Department is currently accepting resumes for the position of entry-level full-time police officers.

The department currently employs 11 full-time officers.

To apply, candidates must be at least 18 years old, a U.S. citizen, and a resident of New Jersey. Applicants must have a high school diploma or an approved high school equivalency certificate and possess a valid New Jersey driver’s license. Candidates must also be able to pass a background investigation, psychological evaluation, medical exam, and drug screening.

Additionally, applicants will need to pass the Police Training Commission (PTC) physical fitness test and successfully complete the Police Academy. Details about the academy’s start date will be provided to eligible candidates after the initial review.
