UPDATE: Jefferson Township man, 64, dies from gunshot wound; no foul play suspected

JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A 64-year-old man from Jefferson Township who was hospitalized with a gunshot wound Tuesday night has been pronounced dead, according to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

At approximately 9:06 p.m. on June 3, the Jefferson Township Police Department contacted the Prosecutor’s Office to report the incident. The man was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment but later succumbed to his injuries.

Following an investigation, authorities have determined that the gunshot wound was not the result of any criminal act. Officials emphasized that there is no danger to the public.

The exact location of the incident has not been disclosed, and no further information has been released.
